First day in the classroom

Technically it was my second day at the school when I met the class I would be teaching. The first day my associate was out of the school and the principal did not want to stress the supply teacher so I was put in a grade 1 classroom. Although it was nice to talk and meet one of the teachers and observe her teaching techniques, I am in the junior/intermediate division and I highly doubt I will ever teach that young. The students are very cute and tiny but I know that primary is not the area for me! On the first day I had a chance to meet the rest of the staff and familiarize myself with the very small school.
The following placement date I was able to meet my associate teacher who is an older woman but went through the Brock teacher's college program only 3 years ago. I noticed how current she was with the students within the first few days. Since she is familiar with Brock's requirements she was very helpful in providing me with information and tools I will need throughout my placement. I was a little nervous about having my first teaching block in a grade 7 classroom however they were very welcoming and they asked a lot of questions. I am interested to see how my block goes with them!
